It begins in London where a 12-year-old boy, Quinn (CHRISTIAN BALE), watches as his mother wakes a dragon. Twenty years later, dragons have scoured the Earth and nearly destroyed civilization, with only a few places of safety holding on. Quinn joins a radical revolutionary, Van (MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY), who claims to know a way to kill the race of creatures.
